The goal of the project was to provide an easy to use interface that could enable reporting of actuals (past) and management of budgets (future) of the different "projects". The solution was build in IBM TM1 Planning Analytics with an easy to use excel front-end interface.

At ISK Biosciences, both the Sales and the Operational planning are optimized within an IBM Planning Analytics TM1 web application. It offers flexibility and automation to support the planning personnel with their workload through tools targeting to decrease the time spent on composing the plan.

Planning Analytics Workspace : the new TM1 interface

Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) will be the new face of IBM's legendary TM1 planning and analysis platform. The main functionalities are a rich interactive user interface, an easy synchronization and data discovery interface. PAW is not merely an upgrade of the exisiting TM1, but something completely different and fresh in terms of the visual user interface and functionalities. When you have plenty of business users, PAW can be considered as a real option, not only for the visual make-over but also for the quicker reporting and analysis platform. It will make the life of the business analyst significantly easier.

SAP BPC 10.1 Embedded Sales & Price Budgeting

This SAP BPC embedded implementation harmonizes the existing Etex SAP BI-IP Sales & Price budgeting environment into a group-wide Sales to margin budgeting application for all 4 business divisions, with a significant increase in granularity thanks to the performant SAP HANA features including AMDP.

CCH Tagetik Project consolidation, budget and planning in mining sector

Carmeuse is implementing CCH Tagetik 5 for the replacement of SAP BPC for consolidation and management reporting purposes, the complete Budgeting process which is executed in BPC for Sales budget, forecast and CAPEX as well as in Microsoft Excel for the other budget components.

The object of this insight is to answer the following question: "What makes switching to IBM Planning Analytics for excel worthwhile, and will it cover for the functionality already available through TM1 perspectives?". To answer that question we will describe the (new) functionality of PAX and emphasis the differences with TM1 perspectives.
