Data Scientist
Wout studied Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Automation at Ghent University, followed by an Advanced Master's in Data Science for Business, also at Ghent University. He combines a strong technical foundation with a keen eye for creating business value.
During his Advanced Master's, Wout applied his academic knowledge to a real-world financial challenge. For his master's thesis at a leading financial institution, he successfully evaluated and enhanced the organization's credit risk model.
Driven by his passion for automation and AI, Wout focuses on building efficient, data-driven solutions. He has already gained hands-on experience in this field, including the development of an automated pipeline capable of seamlessly extracting and processing information from transport orders.
Outside of his professional interest in data and AI, Wout enjoys playing football and spending time with friends. Whenever he gets the opportunity, he also enjoys playing chess.
Wout will join the element61 team in September 2026.
