Tom obtained a Master of Science in Business Engineering with a specialization in Data Analytics from Ghent University in 2024. His duo master's dissertation delved into the application of deep reinforcement learning for managing spare part inventory by leveraging degradation data. This research demonstrated his enthusiasm for fusing complex artificial intelligence solutions with business applications.
Tom's interest in data emerged during his academic program when he was introduced to coding and machine learning. These experiences stimulated his fascination with technology, which has become a driving force in his career aspirations. He further honed his skills during an internship at element61, where he contributed to enhancing the demand forecasting pipeline, gaining firsthand experience of the company's dynamic work environment. Furthermore, he participated in a consulting project for an SME with Academics for Companies, which enhanced his practical knowledge and business acumen.
Tom engages in physical activities such as football and weightlifting in his leisure time. He cherishes spending quality time with his friends and family.
