Since a first roadmap done in 2021, element61 has been working on building a modern data platform in Azure for the University of Luxembourg. The data platform is used for enabling more self-service reporting in Power Bi (combining data from SAP & a lot of other university applications) and includes reporting on finance, housing and students. Additionally, the data platform is used for building & enabling data product as APIs and thus providing other internal applications with insights & data in a simplified set-up. As element61, we designed and implemented the scalable and secure cloud architecture using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks and Power BI. We coached the internal team and hand-in-hand developed use-cases allowing the University to gain better insights into their operations, finance and operational efficiency.
