Whenever a report is displayed on a total level, the drill-down functionality can be used to see the underlying detail of the selected dimension member. Drill down functionality in BPC is standard and does not need programming.

Hierarchies are defined by the ParentHx property. It's possible to define more than 1 hierarchy by using ParentH2, ParentH3... The advantage of using hierarchies is that BPC automatically calculates the value of the levels above (parent members).

A dimension consists of members. If the members of a dimension are arranged in a hierarchical order, the relationship between members is described with terms such as Parent, Child, and Sibling.Dimensions are the building blocks or your application or model and consists out of dimension members. Some are mandatory such as category, entity, time, account. This also depends the application type.

Whenever you send data or launch a package, the default formulas will run as well. It is important to not put too many in default, otherwise the system will become slower.
