The project aimed to migrate the SAP BW4HANA data warehouse to Azure Modern Data Platform, a cloud-based set-up that provides more flexibility, scalability, and performance for data analytics. The project involved assessing the current use, optimizing the data model for flexible use, planning the migration strategy and executing it step-by-step domain by domain. The project also leveraged element61 acceleration kits to speed up the development and deployment of the data lake, data warehouse, and semantic models in Azure. The project team consisted of consultants from element61 and data analysts from Agristo, who worked together to ensure a smooth transition and validation of the migrated data and reports. The first reporting migration domain went live June 2024.
