Data Scientist
Lucie obtained her first Master in Electrical Engineering at TUDelft in the Netherlands. During her Master, she was introduced to machine learning related topics. Her thesis combined signal processing and artificial intelligence as she developed a pipeline for radar-based gesture classification. This work involved classical neural networks and Fourier transforms, as well as a strategy to transform the full pipeline into its spiking neural network equivalent to obtain a more energy-efficient solution.
To further strengthen her background in AI, Lucie completed an Advanced Master in Artificial Intelligence at KU Leuven. Her thesis was conducted in partnership with NXP where she examined different explainable AI techniques and modified an existing Python library to apply it to an audio-based siren-detection neural network.
Throughout her academic path, Lucie joined different voluntary association such as being a scout leader and being a member of the faculty Green Team. She also enjoyed playing football and sailing. During her free time, she likes listening to podcasts, painting, and spending time with friends.
Lucie joined element61 in February 2026.
